Air Marshal D Kukreja inaugurates Higher Defence Management
Course at College of Defence Management (CDM)

Air Marshal Dhiraj Kukreja, Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (DCIDS)
inaugurated the prestigious Higher Defence Management Course-05 (HDMC-05)
at the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad on 22nd June.
The 44 weeks residential course trains selected officers of the rank of
Colonel/Captain (Indian Navy)/ Group Captain in modern management concepts
and techniques as well as their application at directional level in
command and staff appointments. The course is being attended by 110
officers from the three services, Coast Guard and friendly foreign
Countries.
During the inaugural address, Air Marshal D Kukreja said that the Armed
Forces, being a constituent of national power have to leverage indigenous
technology and instil contemporary management thought, concepts and
process in the Defence Sector to further the cause of national security.
He emphasised the need for developing and sustaining knowledge centric
Armed Forces with shared awareness, apt in decision making under
conditions of uncertainty and risk. The Air Marshal also stressed that
participants are in the transitory process of moving from functional to
the directional levels of hierarchy, and the training at CDM would equip
them to meet the demands of efficient management of human and material
resources in an integrated Defence framework.
