DSM started as a PSU in 1902 in Mining and has diversified into various business including pharmaceuticals, Health and Personal care, automotive, coatings and paint, electrical and electronics, and life protection. It employees over 22,000 people operating from 100 countries world wide. In India it has a manufacturing set up in Puna.

Royal DSM at present exploring the possibilities of setting up back office operations and IT Support services centre. The IT Support centre would be the first of its kind of business activities it would be rolling out of its headquarters in Netherlands.

In this context Royal DSM team from Netherlands headed by Mr.Schwalb, CFO and Member of the Board of DSM Group meet Sri. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Hon’ble Minister for IT and Communications and Smt. K.Ratna Prabha,IAS Principal Secretary IT Government of Andhra Pradesh to have a first hand interaction with the Government officials on ICT Industry in Andhra Pradesh.

IT Minister along with senior officials of the IT Department gave a comprehensive insight on the ICT Industry in Andhra Pradesh and the ICT Policy 2010 -2015 of the state Government which provides incentives for all categories of Investments including SMEs to Multinational Companies such as DSM

The Government also highlighted on the benefits of setting up their operations in Hyderabad in terms of state of the art IT Infrastructure, Physical infrastructure such as Orbital and Radial Road networks which are first of its kind in India resembling developed nations, Industry ready talent pool.

The IT Ministe assured full Government support to the ICT Industry during Bands and other intermediately crises.

DSM Business delegation were quite convinced with their interaction with the Government and may most likely announce their decision to setup their Back office and IT Support center in Hyderabad. They would initially set up their operations with 150 members facility and gradually ramp up their operations.
