Hyderabad|India|November'2011: If you don’t want to wait
years together to get Green Card in the US, there is a quicker route - the
EB5 immigration visa informed Mr. Himish Bhatnagar, Founder of GIE
Consultants. Himish is an independent US Visa Consultant who formerly
worked with American Embassy, Visa Section.
He was addressing media in Hyderabad to create awareness among Twincitians
who wish to utilise this opportunity.
Under EB5 there is no pre-qualification required in terms of Education or
employment sponsorship, familial sponsorship which is mandatory in most
immigrant visa categories. You only have to invest up to up to US$ 1
million in a US Commercial Enterprise which results in creation of 10 new
jobs, he added.
The process of immigration is simplified by introduction of Regional
Centres by the US Government in association with New York Immigration
Fund, a US Government approved Regional Centre. Mr. Arun Nanda, Partner in
New York Immigration Fund further added that the EB5 is an immigrant visa
that gets an investor a permanent Green Card along with his family for an
investment of US$ 500,000 through Regional Centre Program. It provides a
shortcut to a permanent resident card that allows an investor to live
permanently in the USA.
EB5 Green Card comes within a year of applying, which normally takes about
eight to ten years in other immigrant Visa categories. The programme
facilitates foreign entrepreneurs' capital investment that creates or
preserves US jobs. Investments under the EB5 category can be made in any
project in the US, across Industries.
More than 3000 foreign investors especially from China have applied for
Green Card under this category in 2010. After Chinese, Indians form a
significant numbers in USA. It is a good opportunity to many young Indian
entrepreneurs, students who want to start their business in the dreamland
also have a benefit of US Permanent resident status.
