Hyderabad|India|April'2010: Electrotherm, a trusted name in foundry
and steel industry for providing unmatched technological leadership for
more than two decades, has announced successful installation and
commencement of commercial production in 40 Ton Furnace, the first and
world’s largest Medium Frequency Induction Melting Furnace for Steel
billet making. Supplied to M/s Mahalaxmi TMT, Wardha, this 40 ton furnace
is powered with 14000 KW and can produce about 1.6 Lac Metric Ton metal
per annum informed Mr. Suneel Kulkarni, Vice President (Marketing),
Electrotherm ( India ) Ltd. while addressing the media at Hyderabad.
“As technology leader in the field of Induction Melting Furnace, we want
to give to our customers more efficient ways of making steel” remarked Mr.
Shailesh Bhandari, the Managing Director of Electrotherm (India) Ltd., a
Public Limited and BSE listed company, when he was complimented upon
successful commissioning and starting of commercial production of the
World’s Largest Medium Frequency Induction Melting Furnace of 40T capacity
for producing Steel Billets.
More than two and a half decades down the line, Electrotherm today stands
tall with a couple of good news for the new fiscal for its stake holders.
The first one being the success of its 40T furnace commissioned at
Mahalaxmi TMT Pvt. Ltd., Wardha on 31st March, 2010. And the second one
being the group turnover crossing 2000 Cr for 2009-10 after achieving
approximately 1700 Cr in the previous year. “In spite of average 25% lower
price realization during the year compared to last year, we have increased
our turnover. This shows the demand of our products in niche markets that
we serve” Mr. Bhandari quoted.
Mr. Sanjay Mantri, Managing Director of Mahalaxmi TMT was overwhelming
with joy when he was contacted. “I have been watching Electrotherm
delivering state-of-the-art equipments to the steel industry over the last
10 years. When we placed order on them for the 40 ton furnace, I was sure
that they would deliver a winner” said Mr. Mantri. “We basically belong to
Jalna and when I witnessed the difference in cost of producing billets
using a 20T and 30T furnace, it just clicked to me why not 40T? The
estimated cost of production would drop by another 800-900Rs/Ton even on
conservative calculations; we stand to save a whopping 12-13Crores/year
using the 40T furnace. That makes a perfect business decision!!”.
“The new 40 ton/14 MW Titon series furnace with the largest level of
automation made available to the industry thus far. Electrotherm has
executed more than a dozen projects overseas and it has already created a
name for itself in the metal melting industry in India and around the
world,” said Mr. Suneel Kulkarni, VP (Marketing) of Electrotherm.
