On the occasion of the two years completion of the formation of GHMC, in a
meeting in city on 20th April, the Commissioner,S.P. Singh said, the level
of infrastructure and service facilities have improved in all the
peripheral municipalities on par with the core area of erstwhile MCH.Yet
there is a lot of demand from the public for more works in several
localities for which a huge financial investment is required, he said. He
asked the officials to work hard for the fulfillment of citizens’
expectations.
He recalled Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was constituted with a
view to facilitating improved and high standard of civic services,
providing better civic administrative mechanism.
The GHMC was constituted on April 16, 2007 by merging surrounding 12
municipalities and 8 Gram Panchayats.

He directed the zonal commissioners to prepare an action plan in each GHMC
Circle wise for improvement of sanitation and resource mobilization.
Earlier, the Commissioner complemented all the officials for their good
work in conducting the general elections.
Special Commissioner, GHMC, Sri Krishna Babu asked the Dy. Municipal
Commissioners’ to enlist the highest property tax defaulters and ensure
proper tax collections. In this context, a core group would be formed for
each zone to assist the field officers, if needed, he said.
Senior Officers Ms. Neetu Prasad, Sri K. Bhasker, Dr. Pandu Ranga Rao, Sri
Purushotham Reddy, Sri Dhan Singh, Sri M. Rajeswara Rao and all Zonal
Commissioners, Additional Commissioners, Dy. Municipal Commissioners and
Engineering, Town Planning, Health & Sanitation officials attended.
