Second edition of HJF’09 promises to open new vistas of
business opportunities for the jewellery industry in South India

Hyderabad|India|July'2009: The second edition
of the Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl & Gem Fair (HJF’09), organized by UBM
India, will take place at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, India
from 9 -12 July, 2009. Over 150 exhibitors from India, Sri Lanka, Hong
Kong , Thailand and Japan are expected to showcase their latest products
and the most trendiest designs. Over 10000 visitors are expected to visit
HJF’09, over the four days of the exhibition. A glimpse and preview of
some exquisite jewellery, worn by two beautiful women was highlighted at
the press conference.
The jewellery is courtesy of Dreamz Diamond Jewellery. HJF’09 will serve
as the trading platform, enabling international suppliers to meet key
buyers from the jewellery markets. The states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil
Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka have shown a continuous growth year on year in
jewellery buying despite volatile prices. These South Indian states are
major consumer markets and form the heart of India’s jewellery trade,
making them very lucrative for new business opportunities and
collaborations with the jewellery fraternity from all over India and
overseas.
South India is also a major manufacturer of studded jewellery and is well
known as a gem, pearl processing centre, with long established national
and international trading networks. Being held in Hyderabad - the capital
city of Andhra Pradesh, also known as the city of pearls, it is
strategically located between major hubs of the world jewellery trade.
HJF’09 aims to provide a much needed meeting place for buyers & sellers of
fine jewellery, pearls, diamonds, gems, and other precious materials.
The organizers are very happy to announce that the 5th governing board of
directors meeting, of the All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF
) will be conducted alongside HJF’09. This meet will bring together, in
Hyderabad, over 100 stalwarts of the jewellery industry, who represent the
top buying houses from across India. “They will take advantage of the
exhibition to fulfill their sourcing needs and keep themselves up dated
with the newest design trends in the industry. We are privileged and
honored to host this meeting alongside HJF’09.” said Mr. Gandhi, Managing
Director , UBM India Pvt. Ltd.
To address some pressing issues faced by the jewellery fraternity, an
informative seminar on “The Changing World of Jewellery Retailing “ will
also be conducted for trade visitors on Thursday 9 July at 4.30 pm in Hall
2. In order to maximize business opportunities, HJF’09 will have a
specific hall for B2B trade visitors only and also a hall for B2B & B2C
for trade visitors & consumers. By adopting such a model the organizers
say that this is the most effective way to cater to both the exhibitors
and buyer’s business needs. Another major advantage of this approach is
that it allows visitors to focus immediately on their areas of interest. A
year round intensive marketing and promotion exercise, both in the
domestic as well as in the international markets will ensure the right
visitors to HJF’09.
