Hitex International Gems &
Jewellery Exposition 2012 held in City

Hyderabad|India|July'2012: Many decades ago, Hyderabad used
to be known as- the City of Pearls. Not anymore. Over the past seven
years, Hyderabad has rewritten its place in the history. Not content to be
associated with pearls alone, today it has established its reign over all
precious gems and jewellery.
This chapter began with the very first edition of Hitex International Gems
& Jewellery Exposition, way back in 2004. Now, in 2012, HIGJE reached
a new pinnacle – its eighth edition –and the location could not be more
befitting as
The 'Jewels of the Nizams' is this regions finest, most valuable jewellery
collection. The famed Golconda mines, the source of the Kohinoor, and the
Hope diamonds, are just a few kilometers away.
It was one of the largest show of its kind in South India, and
Hyderabad's only consumer show. The highlight of the exhibition was:jewellery made from gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, pearls, corals,
semi-precious stones, and gemstones. Equal emphasis was also on special
offerings like antique and fashion jewellery.
HIGJE 2012 was held in city from July 20 to 22, less than a week before Varalakshmi Vratham, which falls on July 27 this year. This is a very
important South Indian festival, deeply associated with wealth and
prosperity. This show gave the perfect occasion to shop for it, and
make selection from the latest designs and products.
