Orphanage children among 170 kids and youth 
showcased their dance skills in City

Hyderabad|India|May'2009: For Sandeep, Sony, Paul, Philomen, Vamshi, Beulah and Yadagiri seven children from the Orphange Hope(Help for the Oppressed & Poor Empowerment) every day has been the same. But, thanks to Dance Master K. Rammurthy, Chief Dance Instructor at Step Up My Dance Studio for the past thirty days it was fun learning Hip Hop dancing. Without missing a single day for the past thirty days they have learnt Hip Hop. Thy give their first ever dance stage show on Saturday in front of 700 audience along with 170 fellow kids who performed 20 dance sequences in Salsa, Jive, Afro Jazz, Bollywood Style and Contemporary. May 30 was a special day the day made their dreams true. The three hours performance began at 5.30pm and ended at 9.30pm on Saturday at Hari Hara Kalabhan, Secunderabad.

The seven special children not only learnt dance free of cost but also got their choicest dance costumes for the show. They all are excited. We used practice dance at our centre on our own and wished if there was somebody to teach us dance as it is my passion. When we learnt that Step Up My Dance Studio will teach us the dance, i was excited, informed Master Philomen.

It was a dream for K. Rammurthy, a 21 years old B.Tech student turned dancer and professional dance trainer, probably the youngest in city to offer the joy and fun of dance to less previleged children. He actually wanted to train blind students. But, he couldn’t get any.

Now starting from June 5th, he would like to start training Blind, Physically Challenged children free of cost. Four years kids to 60 years individuals both blind and general from both sexes are invited to register in one hourly workshops in Free Style, Hip-Hop Dance, Jazz, Salsa and Jive either in the morning(6am to 12noon) or evening (4pm to 8pm). The workshops will be held at Step-Up Studio at Himayatnagar and Step-Up Studio,West Marredpally.

Rammurthy urges Visually Impaired, Physically Challenged and Less Fortunate Children to utilise this opportunity for free training.

The Benefits of Dance Classes are immense, Ram informed. In addition to the obvious benefits of meeting new people and having tons of fun, dance classes are also great ways to help keep fit, and much more entertaining than the gym. It can help increase self-esteem and give you a more positive outlook on life, which are aspects helpful in maintaining good health. One half hour of continuous dancing can burn as many as 400 calories.

The movements required for dancing can also help to increase your bone mass, thus making your bones stronger and less susceptible to fractures and break. In addition, dancing helps maintain proper posture and body alignment, and increases flexibility. Taking dance classes may even help protect your brain! Dancing and other physical exercise increase blood flow to the brain, aiding in waste removal. They also help to protect the brain’s mental abilities, reducing the risk of dementia in the later years of life. Especially those who are in stress prone areas such as students during exam, office goers sitting long time inform of computers doing desk job can be very active with dance practice.

Dance can offer 1. Flexibility 2. Strength 3. Endurance and 4. Sense of Well-Being. Dancing is a social activity. Studies have shown that strong social ties and socializing with friends contribute to high self-esteem and a positive outlook. Joining a dance class can increase self-confidence and build social skills. Because physical activity reduces stress and tension, regular dancing gives an overall sense of well-being. Because of those many benefits lot of people are looking at Dance Training particularly during summer holidays as well as regularly as a hobby.
