Hyderabad to be
a knowledge city soon: CM

The Chief Minister Sri N.Kiran Kumar Reddy said
that Hyderabad city is transforming as a good
“knowledge city” in the world soon with the
establishment of world class educational and
management institutions in and around the city.
“A.P. is the leader in Pharma and I.T industry in
India”, said Chief Minister.
Sri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human
Resources Development, Communications and
Information Technology inaugurated the Hyderabad
Campus of the Institute for Management Technology
(IMT) here in Ranga Reddy district today. The
Chief Minister presided over the inaugural
function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said
that the State Government is committed to provide
quality education to everyone and no child would
be deprived of education. The State Government is
financing Rs.3500 crores per annum for 27 lakh
poor students in the State as fee reimbursement
and scholarships irrespective of caste and creed.
Quality education is what is required today and
the whole world is global village. We have to
focus on creativity and entrepreneurship, the
Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister also said that the State
Government is contemplating to provide 15 lakh
jobs in the next three years by upgrading the
skills of the students through “Rajiv Gandhi
Education and Employment Mission” and anticipating
lot of funds from the 12th Finance Commission for
this Mission.
The Union Minister Sri Kapil Sibal said that
“Right from the School to University, we have to
take the children to the ocean of knowledge not to
the Arts, Sciences or Commerce streams and we have
to remove the limitations”. He stated that Indians
will be the leaders of the World in the near
future. He advised the students to change their
mind set and added that Management is much more
than getting fat salary. Management of
socio-economic issues in the society is to be
studied and the Business education is not static,
it is dynamic, he said.
Union Minister and President of IMT Sri Kamalnath
said that the Institute is having world class
infrastructure. Management Education today is
different. World is more inter-connected. Indian
intellectual abilities are recognised all over the
world, the Minister added.
