Hyderabad has become a major
centre for Health services:Meghalaya CM
Hyderabad|India|August'2010: Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr.Mukul
Sangma said that Hyderabad has become a major centre for Health services
and eventually becoming a hub of all major activities.
Dr.Sangma along with his cabinet colleague, Minister for Fisheries and
Urban Affairs, Mr.F.S.Cajee paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister,
Dr.K.Rosaiah at camp office.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister said that the North Eastern States do not
have good medical institutions and the people have to go to far away
places like Delhi and some of them are even coming to Hyderabad. “We are
looking forward to get some of these expert Medical teams to expand in our
region”, he said. He said that he himself had a check up yesterday at the
prestigious Asian Institute of Gastro Enteritis in the city. He
appreciated the efforts of the A.P.Chief Minister for developing the State
in all fronts. “You are known as a leader of high stature and a man of
principles and we are sure that Andhra Pradesh will progress under your
experienced leadership”, the Meghalaya Chief Minister said.
Interacting with Dr.Sangma, Dr.K.Rosaiah said Andhra Pradesh today has
emerged as the centre for knowledge-driven skill-based and high-value
investments, particularly in IT sector and attracting many a global
investors. He said Andhra Pradesh is one of the largest States in India
and Hyderabad is considered as the fastest growing cities in the country.
Hyderabad International Airport is ranked as world's best airport in its
category, ISB among the top-12 business schools, World Bank rating for
Hyderabad, RBI report which ranked A.P. as the second best investment
destination and the proposed Hyderabad Metro Rail and new rail lines will
help further rapid development of Andhra Pradesh. “We are first among the
best in many sectors. We have the best infrastructural facilities, most
attractive industrial policy, lowest power tariff, abundant natural
resources and vast skilled and unskilled human resources Mr. Rosaiah said.
Elaborating the health scheme, ‘Rajiv Arogyasri’ initiated by the former
Chief Minister, Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister said even a
poor patient suffering from chronic disease can avail free corporate
hospital treatment up to Rs.2 lakhs, which is unique in the country.
The Minister for Fisheries & Urban Affairs, Meghalaya, Mr.F.S.Cajee later
talking to the media outside the camp office thanked the Government of A.P.
for its hospitality. He said that the performance and style of functioning
of Andhra Pradesh is well known in North-Eastern Region of the country.
A.P.is one of the big States well developed in infrastructure, industries,
I.T, agriculture and fisheries. He said that he had fruitful discussions
with his counterpart, Minister for Fisheries, Mr.K.Parthasarathi on
Pisciculture and the quantum of fish being supplied to Meghalaya. He said
that very soon an MoU is going to signed between them to benefit the
people of both States for which he will be visiting the State again
shortly along with a team of officials.
The officials of Fisheries Department said that the consumers are paying
more at Meghalaya where as the farmers in Andhra Pradesh are getting
lesser rates. In this back drop, to rectify such anomalies and to benefit
both States, the MoU is proposed. Further, it is also contemplated to
improve the packing quality as the time taken at present to transport the
fish is around 10 days.
