ICRI celebrates its First Annual Day in City

A Fancy Dress Competition depicting cultures of India by
ICRI Students
Hyderabad|India|September'2009: Institute of Clinical Research
(India) (ICRI), the country’s premier Clinical Research Institute
dedicated to promoting ethical research and high-quality Clinical Research
education celebrated its first Annual Day on the 15th of Sept.
Many dignitaries, doctors, medical practitioners and clinical research
professionals from local hospitals such as Wockhart, Yashoda, KIMS, Global
and NIMS hospitals graced the annual day celebrations.
Welcoming the gathering Prof. P. Satyanarayana, Principal of ICRI and Head
of the Department of Health Care Management welcomed the gathering. He
said that as the pioneers of Clinical Research studies in India, ICRI
imparts innovative and intellectually challenging education of the highest
academic standards. The teaching methodologies and experienced faculty at
ICRI are instrumental in giving the industry Clinical Research
professionals who are competent to take up responsible tasks within the
industry. And announced that the day belonged to the students. And there
was no dais and no more speakers.
The Day was marked with cultural programs such as Fancy Dress Competition,
Singing, Dancing. Fancy Dress on Cultures of India depicting bride and
grooms of Kashmir, Rajasthani, Gujarati, Goan, Andhra, Bengali was the
highlight of the cultural programmes. Ms. Shravani donned the role of
Bharathamatha attracted one and all.
Ms. Prasanna and Mr. Sahitya Kumar enthralled the audience with their
spellbinding singing talent. Particularly Sahitya Kumar’s song ‘Mana
bharatha deshamlo brathuku bharamypothunnadi. Mana samskrithi heenanga,
bahu goranga vanchinchabaduthunnaid, yochinchamantondi” got a huge
response from the audience.
Ms. Pavan Nanci’s fusion dance received thunderous applause from the
audience. Western song numbers ‘Knocking on heaven’s door and Zombie’
performed by Grace on vocals, Anup on Guitar and Amit on Key Board too
received appreciation from the audience.
The winners of various competitions were given away prizes. Prasanna and
Sahitya Kumar bagged First and Second prizes in Singing; Fancy Dress on
Indian Culture bagged first prize; Ms. Akanksha and Sohan bagged first and
second prizes respectively for dance.
Ms. Rashmi is adjudged as the winner in Essay Competition and Dharma
Kaushik as the runner up. The topic given was “Your vision as an Indian on
the eve of India’s Independence Day 2009” . While forty decided to
participate in the essay competition, but, 15 had the courage to write on
the spot topic and the rest left the hall, announced the faculty while
giving away prizes to the winners.
Rashmi in her essay envisioned a free India, safe India, secured India,
united India and developed India. Her dream India is that gives free
education to one and all. I love my India, right or wrong. If it right, i
keep it right. If it is wrong, i set it right, she said emotionally
immediately after receiving her prize.
