7th Annual
Technology Day of ITsAP (formerly HYSEA) brings efficiencies through
virtualization to the fore
~Event organized in conjunction with ACM – Hyderabad Chapter provides the
direction for the post slow down era~

(formerly HYSEA) Technology Day, an annual get together of IT/CS
professionals in Hyderabad , was hosted by ITsAP (formerly HYSEA) in
association with ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), Hyderabad
Chapter at the Taj Deccan in the City. The 7th annual event brought out
the “Virtualization for efficiencies” theme via a series of Technology
Platforms, Usage Models, Use cases and Architectural Approaches, presented
and moderated by the eminent thought leaders from the industry and
academia.
Many senior technology leaders and managers from product, research and
software services/integration space discussed and exchanged their views
around emerging technology and business trends today in the context of
“Large-scale Virtualized and Distributed Systems”. Thought leaders from
companies like Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, Gartner, Progress Software,
Pramati and Cordys shared their insights through panel discussions and
talks.
The audience comprising of senior Engineers, Managers and Architects from
all software companies, academic and research institutions got a preview
of the shape of things that will emerge in the technology landscape for
tomorrow. Rapid technological advances in the virtual space, coupled with
the impact of the slowdown have all pointed to the trend that
Virtualization will be play a very major role in the coming years.
Mr. Narsimha Rao, President, HYSEA & VP and Center Head, Infosys said, “We
are extremely pleased to organize the 7th Technology Day which brought the
industry leaders together to share their views on various contemporary
technologies. The meet focused on emerging technology trends and
opportunities in the space of virtualization by bringing the views from
product, research and software services/integration space for efficiency
at the same platform.”
Sharing the enthusiasm, Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, MD, Progress Software India
exclaimed, “Virtualization is rapidly gaining prominence and it is really
important to bring forth new technologies, platforms, development models
and use cases to accentuate the emergence of the trend. This platform has
brought together the ideas and views of the leaders from the zenith and
helped the participants to comprehend the phenomenon better. The seminar
also helps gain the understanding of the technology and trends which can
be put forth for usage by the industry.”
The event saw industry leaders like Mr. Chidambaran, Director Engineering,
Yahoo, talking about “Large Scale Distributed Infrastructures for the
Enterprise : Architectures and Challenges”. Mr. Bhavish Sood, Analyst,
Gartner shared the “Technology Analyst update on industry trends” along
with the usecases for the Cloud. Remote Desktop Visualization was
discussed in details by Dr. Jaideep Ganguly, Remote Desktop Virtualization
Division. Tanuj Vohra, Partner Director of Program Management Visual
Studio Test Business, Microsoft presented his views on “Virtual
Infrastructures for Software Dev and Test Use”, whereas Mr. Abhishek Bapna,
Project Manager, Google discussed the “Emerging Trends in cloud business”.
“Provisioning and managing the application environment in the cloud” was
effectively put forth by Rajiv Shivane, VP- Product Engineering, Pramati.
Sachin Hejip, Director of Engineering, Progress Software shared is views
on “Operational Responsiveness and Business Visibility: A use-case for the
Cloud”. Chalasani Anil Kumar, Head of Global IT, Cordys shared his views
on “Patterns for infrastructure abstractions on Computing clouds”. The
half day symposium also witnessed two panel discussions, namely, “Enabling
Technologies- cloud platforms” and “Design patterns/Use cases for the
cloud”, moderated by Dr. Prasad Saripalli, VC Chair, ACM-Hyderabad Chapter
and Ramesh Loganathan, MD, Progress Software India respectively.
