Lt.General KR Rao on a 3 day visit to City

Hyderabad|India|June'2009: Lt. General Kammula Ramchandra Rao, Director General Artillery and Colonel Commandant of Regiment of Artillery having taken over as DG Artillery recently, is on a three-day visit to the twin cities. He is the senior most serving officer in the Armed Forces from Sainik School, Korukonda, Andhra Pradesh.

As part of his visit, the General officer made a courtesy call on the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri YS Rajasekhara Reddy at his Camp Office on 18th June. Lt Gen KR Rao is also scheduled to meet the Home Minister of AP to discuss about Sainik Welfare issues.

Lt Gen Kammula Ramachandra Rao (KR Rao) was commissioned in the Regiment of Artillery on 20 Dec 1970. He is an alumni National Defence Academy, Kadakwasla. The General took part in 1971 India - Pakistan War and 1987 IPKF operations in Sri Lanka. For his distinguished service in the Indian Army, he has been awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal, Vishist Seva Medal.
