Dr.Rosina Nasir of UoH awarded the C.R.Parekh Fellowship,London School
of Economics(LSE)

Hyderabad|India|September'2010:
Dr. Rosina Nasir, faculty member at the Centre for
the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), School of
Social Sciences (SSS), University of Hyderabad has been awarded with the
C.R. Parekh Fellowship, London School of Economics for the year 2010-2011.
The selection for this fellowship is based on the merit of the research
proposal, its potential to increase the stock of knowledge in the area of
“Exclusion” and the academic merit of the candidate.
The fellowship is for a period of three months in the academic year
2010-2011 which commences around late September 2010, founded at the Asia
Research Centre, London School of Economics. During a period of
fellowship, Dr. Rosina will work on the research paper titled “Exclusion
in the Public Health Care System with respect to the Indian Muslims”.
Before joining the University of Hyderabad in 2009, she worked in the
Centre for the Study of Developing societies (CSDS), Delhi and Tata
Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Her research interests
include Anthropological Demography, Concept of Social Exclusion, Middle
Class Phenomenon and Indian Muslims, Social Capital and Microfinance,
Health and Different Insurance Products and Geriatrics. She has
contributed research articles in International Journals like Man in India,
the Eastern Anthropologist and Anthropologist and National Journal like
Indian Journal of Human Rights and Social Justice.
