Ista Hyderabad is hosting ‘Padharo Marhe Des’ - a
festival of vibrant culture and cuisine of Marwar at its specialty Indian
restaurant, ‘Deori’. The fest starts 7:00 pm onwards from 8th September to
September 19th, 2010. With foods from a wide selection of exotic cuisine
from the Marwar region of Rajasthan, the festival is presented by Ista’s
Executive Chef, Mr. Amit Wadhawan who is a specialist in Indian cuisines.
‘Padharo Marhe Des’ is a unique collection of recipes of a very special
cuisine of Rajasthan that is of great importance to India ’s food culture.
Marwari food mostly comprises of vegetarian diet and is prepared in ghee
and other milk products. Each of the recipes at the fest is prepared
giving emphasis to the region and culture living up to the sentiments of
the Marwari patrons.
‘Padharo Marhe Des’ will have wholesome entertainment with traditional
Rajasthani musicians and vocalists rendering the folklore. The call for
‘Kesariya Balam’, is just not to be missed.
Some of the popular Marwari dishes served at Ista Hyderabad are:
* The best known Rajasthani food – a combination of dal, bati and churma (Dal
is lentils; Bati is baked wheat ball; and Churma is powdered sweetened
cereal).
* Highlight of the event will be the much loved sweet dish called Lapsi
prepared with broken wheat sautéed in ghee and sweetened, Mawa Kachori
from Jodhpur, Alwar ka Mawa, Malpuas from Pushkar, Rasogullas from Bikaner,
Ghevar from Jaipur are some of the other popular sweet dishes from the
Marwari food festival.
* Ista also offers the unique creation of Maharaja of Salwar – the Junge
maas, a favorite among the Maharajas of medieval period of Rajasthan. The
meat is simply cooked in pure ghee, salt and plenty of red chilles.
The guest will have a choice of both Ala Carte and Traditional Thali
service of the exotic food specialties from the Rajasthan region available
at the restaurant. Ista has varied vegetarian Thali menus with Rana Ji ke
Thali attractively priced at Rs.590/- plus taxes and Maharana Ji ke Thali
priced at Rs.690/- plus taxes. Not to leave behind the meat lovers, Ista
has also carefully selected some exotic non-vegetarian dishes from the
Rasois of the Rajputs of the Rajasthan region.
