Spectacular parade marks NCC Day

NCC Cadets march past while Microlite aircrafts flying high
at the 61st NCC Celebrations held
at Army parade ground in Secunderabad on 22 Nov’2009
Hyderabad|India|November'2009: The Directorate of NCC, AP, to
commemorate the 61st Raising Day Anniversary of National Cadet Corps (NCC)
organised a spectacular parade at Army Parade ground on Sunday.
Second Officer G Veeranjaneya of Guntur Group commanded the parade in
which 120 girl and 550 boy cadets were took part. The Home Minister of AP,
Smt. Sabitha Indra Reddy reviewed the parade and took salute at its march
past. On the occasion, Smt. Sabitha Indra Reddy released a souvenir of NCC
Directorate and also distributed prizes. Senior Under Officer (SUO) Anusha
Sabbineni awarded the Colonel Chaudhary Trophy and best Cadet Medal. Chief
Ministers’ Banner for Overall Championship and Mandatory conditions Trophy
goes to the Kakinada NCC Group which was handed over to them by holding
Hyderabad group.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh Smt. Sabitha
Indra Reddy has said that National Cadet Corps with 13 lakh cadets, has
created a force of disciplined and trained young men and women, who shall
always be a valuable asset to the nation. She appreciated the efforts of
NCC for various social causes and congratulated the NCC team from Andhra
Pradesh to have won the prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner at New Delhi
for the second time consecutively, last year.
Horse show in which young cadets, both boys and girls, participated
received applauds from the large number of spectators. A Synchronised
drill with rifles was introduced this time. The youngest riders, attracted
attention of the spectators with their performance in Show Jumping.
Malkhambh and Air demonstration by the Air Wing cadets were the other
highlights of the parade which marked culmination of the week long
celebrations beginning from 17th November.
NCC was raised in the year 1948 with a strength of 32,500 Senior Division
and 1,35,000 Junior Division cadets.
