CM congratulates ISRO scientists for the perfect launch of the OCEANSAT-2 from Sriharikota

Hyderabad|India|September'2009: The Chief Minister K Rosaiah congratulated the ISRO scientists for the perfect launch of the OCEANSAT-2 from Sriharikota. He described it as a perfect launch. Mr Rosaiah hailed the Indian Space Research Organization for launching 7 satellites into space one after another in a matter of 20 minutes. He described it as a great achievement and congratulated the scientists for the precision in the launching and said it added another feather to ISRO’s cap.

The PSLV was carrying Oceansat 2, a remote-sensing spacecraft, and 6 smaller satellites. The 960-kilo Oceansat-2, will study oceans, and its data is likely to be a great help for our fishermen.

Mr Rosaiah also hailed the space scientists led by ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair for their achievement in placing all these satellites successfully into their prescribed orbits. He said with a constellation of 10 remote sensing satellites already in space, India is now a space power to reckon with.
