Hyderabad|India|March'2010: Richa Gangopadhyay, former Miss India
USA (2007-08), has become the most sought –after actress in the South in
less than a month, after her recent Telugu film, ‘Leader’, directed by
none other than award-winning director, Sekhar Kammula. Richa who debuted
with Rana Daggubati, grandson of movie-Moghul Rama Naidu, son of Suresh
Babu and nephew of superstar Venkatesh, has totally mesmerized the
audiences and media with her performance and dazzling personality.
This glamorous and charming 5 feet 8 inch tall, ravishing Bengali NRI has
been invited as special guest with Kapil Dev and Sania Mirza at a charity
golf event raising awareness for cancer, graced an occasion with AP’s
current Chief Minister Rosaiah, and walked the ramp for breast cancer
fashion shows. Richa has already signed two Telugu movies with leading
actors like Ravi Teja in “Mirapakaya” and with Venkatesh in “Chandramukhi”
sequel respectively.
To keep up the momentum of her fast-gaining popularity as an actress, and
to keep connected with her fan pool, Richa launched her own website
Richagangopadhyay.com
officially.Richa walked
everyone through her dynamic website which offers a multi-layered palate
of media snippets, interviews, photo glimpses and a look into this
beauty’s multi-faceted personality and accomplishments.
Richa said, “I felt I needed my own website to virtually keep up the
wonderful momentum and dialogue with the film industry colleagues and my
fans. I consider myself extremely lucky to have won so much love and
affection for my work. I am humbled but at the same time really excited. I
am interested in doing good cinema and substantive roles, which can be
glamorous as well. Moreover I am interested in the Pan-Indian film
industry. Without a ‘one-stop-shop’ like my own website, I cannot showcase
my talent and acting potential to the directors, producers, casting
coordinators and anyone who is interested in my work. My website is
designed to unveil my passion and natural talent for both
performance-oriented and glamorous roles. I moved from USA to work hard
and prepare. I went through Anupam Kher’s acting school to get the
foundational skills. ‘Leader’ gave me an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
showcase my on-screen skills. Now I am ready for more opportunities in the
South as well as in Bollywood. I also want to do a few Bengali films as I
speak the language fluently.”
Incidentally Richa is also the winner of Miss Photogenic titles, in Miss
India USA and Miss India Worldwide as well as Miss Beautiful Eyes in Miss
India Worldwide-both key tools for the success of any heroine in films.
Richa plans to keep her website dynamic with regular updates about her
projects, travels and community events.
