Hyderabad|India|October'2010: The Chief Minister Dr K Rosaiah welcomed the delegation of South African of Indian Origin who was here for the two day deliberations on creating Awareness, Forging Alliances & Developing Relationships Commemorating 150 years of Indians, who left old Madras State shores to seek their fortune in South Africa.

Mr Lazarus Pillay, head of the delegation described Hyderabad as the "Medical Mecca of the world". They hailed the Chief Minister for the great progress Andhra Pradesh made in the last few years.

The Chief Minister said "I am glad to note that the South Africans of Indian Origin have come full circle and we are proud and happy that your forefathers and you have worked hard and contributed to the economy in South Africa and today you have come forward to give thanks to the country of your origin".

The Chief Minister assured all necessary support to enhance the culture and trade relations and to forge stronger ties between both the countries. The Chief Minister agreed to consider the requests of the delegation to send teachers to South Africa to teach Telugu to the children of Telugu origin and also to extend all help in creating a Telugu Chair in a University in South Africa and arranging visit of scholars periodically.

Dr. Rosaiah also agreed to send cultural troupes to South Africa periodically and to help to create a library for the use of Telugus in South Africa.

Ms. Christine Lazarus, MLA, Mr Swaranjit Sen. Chairman, APTDC, Mr Michael, PRO, SCR and other members of the delegation were also present.
