The cicyle sales in India is growing at the rate of 25 per cent per annum
and has great potential. We are unable to tap its potential as successive
governments fail to encourage usage of bicycles in India. Bicycle is the
layman’s vehicle for commutation. It produces zero pollution. The
governments needs to build seperate cycle tracks, if its usage has to go
up in the country. India is the world’s largest producer of bicycles and
99.9% of them are produced in Ludhiana, they added.
