Hyderabad|India|January'2010: The Chief
Minister K Rosaiah invited industrialists and investors from Taiwan to
invest in Andhra Pradesh and assured all-out support to them. He said
Hyderabad is a fast expanding city and Andhra Pradesh a happening State.
There are immense opportunities for investors and business to start their
industries here. Hyderabad is right on top in pharmaceutical sector,
particularly in bulk drug manufacturing and other formulations.
The Chief Minister was speaking to a high level delegation from Taiwan who
were on a visit to Hyderabad. Mr Rosaish also said that there are other
cities like Visakhapatnam where the Taiwan industrialists can think of
massive investments. He said Visakhaptnam also has an international
airport, port, shipping unit and huge steel plant etc. A petroleum and
petro-chemical investment corridor is also coming up along the long
coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister said Hyderabad is also among the top cities in
Information Technology, ITES, Bio-tech and Fab sector. The Chief Minister
said Taiwan which has 70 industries in Chennai has only one industry in
Hyderabad and hence has lot of scope for more industries and investments
in Andhra Pradesh. He also favoured the idea of a road show on
opportunities and incentives for investments in Andhra Pradesh in Taipei.
The Taiwanese delegation from Taipei was led by Mr Theodore Huang,
Chairman, Chinese National Association of Industry & Commerce (CNAIC), one
of the most influential business associations in Taiwan. Mr Huang heads
the US Dollar 3 billion Taiwanese conglomerate TECO in Taiwan. TECO is
presently considering the possibility of expanding to India. The top level
delegation had business interests in the areas of information technology,
telecommunications, semiconductor, PV Solar Module Manufacturing, Pharma
and Biotechnology, Consumer electronic manufacturing and others. During
the last two days, the delegation visited FABCity, Genome Valley and
Hitech City.
The delegation appreciated the Chief Minister and the State Government for
the excellent progress achieved by the State in manufacturing and service
sectors, IT, BT etc. They appreciated the sincere efforts of the
government in building quality industrial infrastructure in the State,
particularly in Hyderabad. The members of the delegation have expressed
their keen interest in bringing some keen Taiwanese investments to Andhra
Pradesh. They also described the Hyderabad International Airport as the
best in the country. The Chief Minister also promised that the State
Government will provide all necessary infrastructure required for the
Taiwanese industrialists and investors.
