Hyderabad|India|August'2010: In these days of power crisis,
power cuts became unavoidable. And in this age of electronic
communications, energy driven equipments, gadgets, and gizmos, power back
up becomes very important. And energy management becomes crucial.
Keeping this in mind a three day trade show of Uninterrupted Power Supply
in short UPS, Inverters, Batteries, Solar equipment, Power Storage
Devices, Alternate Energy solutions is being organised in city at
Institution of Engineers on August 6 to 8th. The expo is formally
inaugurated today Mr.Y. Harish Chandra Prasad, Chairman of Malaxmi Infra
Projects and former Chairman of CII, A P Chapter. Organised by UPS Expo
Solutions, this is first time in the state a dedicated exhibition is
organised for power back up equipment.
Speaking immediately after the inauguration Mr. Y. Harish Chandra Prasad
said one unit of energy saved is equal to 2.5 units of power produced. He
said government is giving lot of emphasis on energy saving and
conservation. It has identified 74 industries which consume maximum
energy. They were asked to conserve energy. On energey conservation, they
were given Energy Saving Certificate which can be tradable, he said and
appreciated organisers to come forward and organise such a rare
exhibition.
The main objective of this expo is power cuts are inevitable. We need to
gear up with power back up equipment. But, public in general still do not
have awareness about these equipments. Ordinary public still feel that
these quipment for meant for corporates and affluent people. Now there are
many equipments which are affordable by individuals. Through this expo we
want to communicate this message and we would like to create awareness
general public about UPS, Inverters, Batteries and solar equipments
informed Mr. Sreenath Reddy, MD of UPS EXPO Solutions.
About 40 exhibitors are showcasing their latest and innovative and wide
range of products. The equipment of different manufacturers, suppliers,
dealers and distributors is available under one roof for every one to
compare and choose equipment which is best suitable to them.
Amara Raja, Delta, Exide, Accel, Numeric, Emerson, Whirlpool, Kirloskar,
Microtek, Su-Kam, Power One, Luminous, APC, HBL, Crompton Greaves, Bajaj,
Rocket, V-Guard, Tata Green, 360 Energy, Sreetek, Whirlpool, Sun Energy,
Entek, Ernad, Albit, Swastik, Supreme, Surya, Okaya and many other
companies are showcasing their products.
On display are some of the products like Tribal Life--which is India’s
first smart LED based re-chargable portable emergency lantern. It delivers
a 360 degreeLED lighting and is particularly useful in rural areas. It is
brough out by Amararaj Batteries. It was launched in March 2010 in
domestic market and its weighs 2kgs and costs Rs 1500/-.
Another product which remined highlight of the show is Tribal Italia, a
home inverter. It says the age of box type inverters & UPS are over.
Tribal Italia UPS blends together superb functionality, magnificient
elegance and outstanding aesthetics.
Giving details, Mr. Sreenath Reddy and Prasanna Kumar, Managing Partners
of UPS EXPO Solutions the organiser of the expo said the perception about
battery has been changing fast. The industrial users are realising that
battery is a critical link to ensuring the backup power.
The industry has grown four fold in the last three years and there is very
high potential for growth in the coming years. The increase in demand is
rapid in the IT, Industrial, Commercial as well as Domestic segments with
sustained power cuts for longer periods, informed Mr. Sreenath Reddy.
Banking, insurance and finance companies continue to be the largest
segment for battery usage, followed by IT/ITeS and telecom. Other
important segments are Small Office Home Office and manufacturing sectors.
The Indian UPS market is a highly competitive, and fragmented. But it is
growing. Both MNCs and indigenous manufacturers fighting for their cake.
Competition within the market has been increasing due to the low level of
entry barriers for new participants, especially in the low end power range
(up to 20kVA). India UPS Market according to Frost & Sullivan was worth
US$544.4 million in 2007 and estimates this to reach US$1,316.5 million in
2014.
The domestic UPS market comprises over 300 suppliers broadly classified
into three categories viz 1 Global majors with pan India presence and they
cater upto 60% of the market. 2. The Suppliers with regional presence. 3
Local suppliers confined to a few pockets or couple of cities or couple of
states only.
2010 is expected to be a good year for the UPS market. According to IDC
India, during 2009, the total India market size of high-end i.e above 5KVA
UPS systems recorded 69,000 units. Emerson, Numeric and APC were the top
three players in terms of units. During 2009, the total India market size
of low-end i.e less than 5 KVA UPS systems recorded at 27 lakh units. APC,
Intex and Microtek were the top three players in unit terms.
In India, the organised market is dominated by two large domestic
manufacturers Amara Raja and Exide but there are a host of brands - mostly
their products are imported - available in the unorganised segment.
Indian battery market set to double by 2011. The domestic battery industry
is poised to more than double within four years given the current rate of
growth of over 20 per cent per annum. The growth is not coming from
automotive segment but from the industrial sectors powered by usage in the
telecom, railways, power and other industrial applications.
Th organized battery market in India accounts for Rs 5,000 crore, and the
unorganised sector about three times that of the organised business. But,
the overall market size of power back up equipment is estimated to be
around Rs 10,000crore. The Andhra Pradesh market for power back up
equipment is put at Rs 500crore per annum. We have 14 major players in
Battery business in India.
Normally exhibitions like this one are organized in countries like US,
Europe. But sometime ago an International Battery Fair was held in India.
Now a regional version of the same is being organized at Hyderabad. This
itself is an indication that the market is poised for growth summed Mr.
Sreenath Reddy.
This exhibition is showcasing various brands for the B2B customers and
final consumers over a period of 3 days. The venue is centrally located
facilitating all segments of customers to visit the exhibition. This is an
excellent opportunity for all to know about various companies and their
brands available in the market under one roof. By participating in this
exhibition you may benefit by choosing the best business opportunity or
best offer available among various brands.
The exhibition is opens from 10am to 8pm. The entry for the exhibition is
free. And all are welcome to utilise this opportunity.
Having a battery back up for an office network environment is a necessity,
as seen in most parts of India where power can go off without a warning.
Power conditioners supply the much-needed power in times of need from
batteries, connected to them. A battery is an electric storage device,
which can be found in different shapes, sizes, voltages and capacities.
Volta demonstrated the world’s first battery in 1880. 1983 saw the birth
of the modern day SMF Battery which was brought to India by Amara Raja
Batteries Ltd. (ARBL) in 1991. The battery is the most vital component of
any UPS or any other power conditioning equipment. Only the batteries back
power supply in case of any power outage. If not for this, all the
critical data will be lost forever.
