UoH inks pact with CDFD

Hyderabad|India|Mayl'2009: The University of Hyderabad (UoH), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad, an autonomous institution supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

As per the Agreement, the UoH will earmark 25 acres of land on its Gachibowli campus to CDFD to setup its own infrastructure to facilitate the CDFD to further its aims and objectives as well as for collaborative programmes with the UoH. Both the Institutions jointly desire to undertake collaboration in research, teaching, consultancy work and also jointly organize Workshops/Seminars/Conferences at the National and International levels in the areas of Modern Biology and allied subjects.

On behalf of the University of Hyderabad, Prof. Prakash C. Sarangi, I/c. Registrar and on the behalf of CDFD, Mr. Sanjeev Rao, Head, Administration, signed the agreement on 3rd May, 2009, in the presence of Dr. M.K. Bhan, Hon’ble Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, Prof. Seyed E. Hasnain, Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad and Dr. Gowrishankar, Director, CDFD.
