Hyderabad|India|September'2010: City based Abhyasa Residential School boys and girls shine at just concluded 19th A.P. Regional ICSE and ISC Schools Sports Meet-2010 and won 85 medals. Abhyasa students emerged winners in Basket Ball Junior Boys Category, runners up in Senior Boys Category. In Swimming both Junior and Senior Boys Categories Abhyasa School boys declared All Round Champions.

The meet which kicked off on 25th is concluded on today at RRC Grounds Secunderabad. The annual meet was competed by 29 schools out of 110 ICSE and ISC Schools in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The event was competed by 1319 students in both Senior and Junior categories seperately by boys and girls. The competition was held in 16 Track and Field Events in Athletics, Swimming and Basket Ball. An encouraging number of 47 teams participated in the Basket Ball Tournament. 153 students participated in the swimming events and 602 in athletic events.

In the Basket Ball Tournament in the Junior Boys Category students of HPS reached runners up position. In Junior Girls Category students of Future Kids School are winners and NASR runners. In Senior Boys Category, students of HPS reached the first place. In the senior girls category, students of NASR School are the winners and students of Hyderabad Public School the runners.

Abhyasa Residential School won Ten Gold, Four Silver and Seventeen Bronze Medals in track and field events. The school boys won gold medals in High-Jump, 100 meters, 200 meters relay, Triple Jump, Javeline. The four silver medals won in High jump, Javeline, two silver medals in Shotput. Seven of its students selected to play on behalf of A.P team at National Basket Ball Championship to be held in October in Kolkata.

Mrs. Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy, Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation graced as Chief Guest and gave away trophies and medals. Speaking on the occasion she said participating is more important than winning.

Mr. Vinayak Kalletla, Principal expressed his happiness for the all round performance of the Abhyasa students especially when studies score over sports, sports take back seat our boys proved otherwise, he said. We focus on all round progress of our students. Sports and studies get equal importance in our school, added Mr. Vinayak.

The event gave children an opportunity to display their sporting talents and also to forge friendship and integrity among the fraternity of the schools, informed Mr. Vinayak.
