Hyderabad|India|October'2010:
Aditya Park’s Promenade Restaurant has always been in the forefront of
providing culinary experiences to Hyderabad’s gourmets. A 10-day
Mediterranean Food Festival presented as a Dinner Buffet is another step
in that direction. The festival is on till 31st October 2010 from 7:30 pm
onwards daily at Promenade Restaurant, Aditya Park Hotel located at
Ameerpet. Spearheading the initiative in the kitchen is Chef Vijay who
comes with 18 years of experience in kitchens of world renowned hotels in
the Middle East.
Mediterranean food presents a wide variety of choices as it is derived
from the cuisines of countries that are located around the Mediterranean
Sea such as Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Albania, Syria, Israel,
Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Morocco. By and large
Mediterranean cuisine is characterized by its flexibility, its range of
ingredients and its many regional variations, informs Chef Vijay.
Owing to the terrain in the countries surrounding the Mediterranean, which
is conducive to the raising of goats and sheep, there is abundance of this
meat in the cuisine. Seafood dishes are also common, while the other
common items include bread, grains, lentils; fresh vegetables, fruits,
rice, pasta and nuts. In addition, olive oil and garlic are the pillars of
most of the recipes which are widely used in Mediterranean cuisine. It is
widely believed that Mediterranean cuisine is particularly healthful.
Grilled meats, pita bread, hummus, and falafel are very popular forms of
the Eastern type of Mediterranean cuisine.
The food festival at Promenade promises to be a judicious mix of all these
elements. The spread offers an array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian
dishes. From starters to main course to desserts — this festive spread
will see a wide range of Mediterranean specialties. To name a few Hommous,
Motabal, Fattoush, Babaganoush, Spinach Fattayer, Sambousek, Samke harra,
Shish Kabab, Shish Taouk, Lamb Chops, Roasted Chicken, Chicken cordon
Bleu, Ratatouille, Lasagna, Spaghetti, Cioppino Fish Stew, Arroz cubano
and Arabic Rice. Desserts include Umm ali, Mohallabiah, Qatayef, Baklawas,
Mafruka, Kunafa, Sahlab, Profiteroles, Spanish Natillas, Chocolate mousse
and Tiramisu.
With a treat like this on offer, we are sure that all roads lead to Aditya
