Hyderabad|India|January'2009: Mr.Gireesh
Kumar Sanghi on behalf of All India Vaish Federation (AIVF) has invited
the people of the country to witness the unveiling of the Pratima of the
legendary Sri Agrasenji Maharaja, a luminary of Vaish Parampara, by Her
Excellency Hon'ble President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, on
2nd January 09, 10.00 AM, at Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
In the socio-political history of India, Sri Agrasenji Maharaj is the
first of the Kings who decided to be a Vaish than a Kshatriya, as he
detested the animal slaughter or bali parampara. He compares in even stead
to the great King Ashok in relation to establishing peace and caring for
fellow human beings and was regarded as a harbinger of economic growth for
his entire kingdom. He established a dynasty of Vaish rulers & started the
tradition of welfare state, non-violence, and a socialistic pattern of
society to uplift the needy. Since then the Vaish Samaj of India is
engaged in serving the society through its entrepreneurship initiatives,
tenacity imagination & hard work.
AIVF was formed in 1981 as a common platform to bring together the
different elements of Vaish Samaj, as one unit. The Vaish samaj prides
itself in the creation of economic contributors involved in all aspects of
economic functioning & growth. We find the leading traders,
Industrialists, commerce & marketing and manufacturers of all lineages
belonging to Teli, Kalwa, Prajapati, Vishwakarma, etc.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Gireesh Kumar Sanghi, National President,
AIVF said, "The Vaish Samaj is thankful to the President of India to
accord the recognition to the Vaish tradition by honouring the memory of
the great Maharaja Agarsenji. The unveiling of the Pratima is a
recognition & celebration of a healthy & practical tradition of
productivity, hard work & sharing set down 5000 years ago by a visionary
King Agersenji Maharaj. His ancient philosophy is relevant & modern even
today in a social democracy. It will be beacon to the Vaish Samaj to
proceed on the path of growth through hard work, innovation, investment &
prosperity with equity."
Further talking about the Vaish Samaj, Shri Gireesh Kumar Sanghi,
President, AIVF, said, "We are proud to say that the Vaish Community does
not work for itself but also contributes to national coffers, generation
of employment & is also involved in charitable works, which includes
building schools, hospitals, sarais, wells and dharamshalas amongst
others, highest employment generation in the private sector, in spite of
the fact that this Samaj constitutes only 16% of the population." He
added, "The contribution of the Vaish Samaj to the progress of the nation,
growth of the society can never be understated. Through the ages the
luminaries like Bhama Shah to Lala Lajpat Rai.
Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, G.D Birla, Gujarmal Modi, Maithilisharan Gupt,
Harishchandra, Jamna Lal Bajaj amongst others have been in the forefront
of national development in different fields. A firm belief in sharing &
spreading the gains of growth among the fellow citizen the Vaish Samaj was
& will always be actively engaged in social service, charity & building
institutions."
In recent history when fate of the nation went through many ups & downs
the Vaish Samaj of India continued to be creators of wealth & benefactors
of social prosperity & well being. From Bhamashah to Mahatma Gandhi, Vaish
Samaj was directly or indirectly involved in the freedom struggle. Before
& after the Independence the Vaish Samaj engaged in trade, commerce &
industry continued to contribute to financial & industrial growth of the
country by investing in modern technology & innovation so that our budding
democracy kept pace with the growth around the world. And when the nation
opened its doors to the world in the era of liberalization the
entrepreneurs of Vaish Samaj were ready & prepared to launch the Indian
economy into the 21st century.
