Hyderabad|India|January'2009: Former Director General of Police Mr. Swarnajit Sen, IPS (Retd.) took charge as Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) here today at 10:30 AM at Tourism House, Himayat Nagar, Hyderabad. Mr. Sen succeeds Mr. T. K. Dewan, IAS (Retd.). Mr. Swarnajit Sen has earlier served as Director General of Police from 31 December 2004 – 31 December 2006.

Mr. Swarnajit Sen comes from an Army background. He created history by becoming the first DGP to ever visit the Maoist-infested areas in uniform. He is known to be a through professional.
