'Back to School’
program held in City
Free School Uniforms, Bags
and Books distributed to 200 underprivileged
children of Hyderabad slums and Stone cutters

Vidya Jyothi, an educational project of Operation
Blessing India organised ‘Back to School’ program
for the underprivileged / at risk children of
Hyderabad slums and Stone cutters here at KSN Gardens, Beside Vijetha Theatre, Borabanda
Main Road, Hyderabad. About 200 underprivileged
children were given Free School Bags, Books and
Stationary. They came all dressed up in the new
uniforms and shoes provided by Operation Blessing
India. Chief Guest D. Sreenivasulu, Secretary to
Government presented the school bags, books and
stationary to the children.
Speaking on the occasion, D. Sreenivasulu
appreciated the efforts of Operation Blessing
India for making a difference in the lives of the
children and added that Labour, employment,
training and factories department, Government of
Andhra Pradesh would work along with NGOs like
Operation Blessing India and others for the
welfare of construction workers and children of
various labourers. He also added that they will
have a mobile van to reach out to such under
privileged children to help them study. The
function was also graced Commissioner, Deputy
Commissioner and various officers of the Labour
Department. Dr. Rajesh Dasari, Director and Vivian
Isaac, Manager of Operation Blessing India were
also present on the occasion.
Earlier, children from Gajularamaram slum area
sung a song “I am letter ‘W’, And I come to
welcome you. Then I run away. Our dear teacher I
sing for you”. Children of Motinagar sung another
song “Neenu Saadinchanidi lene ledu. Asadhaya
manedi lene ledu. Vijayam epudu nade le.”
Vidya Jyothi is the literacy project for under
privileged children. About 200 under privileged
children from slums in and around Hyderabad
attended the program. The children were also
provided with lunch at the venue and at the end of
the program magic show and games were arranged for
the children’s entertainment.
Operation Blessing’s vision is to help the
children to face the world and to be self-reliant.
Vidya Jyothi believes today’s children are
tomorrows leaders and hence aims at reaching those
children who are denied their basic right to
education due to incapacity to afford for
education. Vidya Jyothi is also a program for
school going, school dropout children in slums. We
at Vidya Jyothi strongly believe that every child
can be nurtured into a better individual if the
right opportunities are provided at the right
time, informed Dr. Rajesh Dasari, Operation
Blessing India.
Since a decade Vidya Jyothi has been successful in
making a difference in the lives of children. We
not only believe in giving the children a good
education but in giving them a way of life and
strong ethical values. Vidya Jyothi today has a
total of 11 centers viz. Motinagar, Rasoolpura,
Gajularamaram, Yadgirigutta and Adilabad in Andhra
Pradesh, three centers at Nagapattinam in
Tamilnadu, one centre at Kandhamal in Orissa, one
in West Bengal and one in New Delhi. Commencement
of three more centers are in progress.
