Hyderabad|India|February'2010: Much talked about BurgerMan Food
Kiosks now come to Hyderabad. The Chennai based BurgerMan Foods India Pvt.
Ltd. expands to Hyderabad. And now is launching 30 BurgerMan Food Kiosks
in various parts of the city. These include Abids, Somajiguda, Necklace
Road, MG Road, Kondapur, etc.
We have heard of road side Idly, Mirchi Bajji stalls and these days even
Soup stalls. But have you come across road side Burgers? This neat and
Hygienic stalls offer varieties of Burgers and other side appetizers for
those busy office goers. If you have skipped breakfast, you don’t have to
worry. You can stop at any of these BurgerMan Kiosks and savour your
favourite Burgers.
The BurgerMan Kiosk is so well designed it has place for refrigerator,
oven, billings counter, etc. Though it is small, it can accommodate 2
people. And provide mouth watering professional burgers.
These Burgers I am talking about are prepared right in front of your eyes.
The kiosk can be managed by one man. Starting from Rs 25/- the prices go
up to Rs 50/-. There are many varieties to choose from - Veg and Non Veg
burgers are available. Takeaways are also allowed. All the necessary
ingredients required for kiosks are supplied by the central kitchen in the
city.
This is a must go and tryout places for people who don’t like to spend
hundreds of rupees on a burger of the same quality elsewhere. The outlets
are located at Abids, Somajiguda, Necklace Road, MG Road, Kondapur,
Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, Karkana, Himyath Nagar, etc.
BurgerMan shot into limelight when 22 years old (now 24 years) youth Sunil
Cherian turned his college project (business plan for MBA at IIPM) into a
profitable business venture. Sunil Cherian’s business acumen is simple. He
doesn’t follow the rules of the conventional business and convinces
corporates to let out their waste (read extra) commercial space, where he
does business. All he wants is 25 sq. ft. area to set up a kiosk model.
This little vending kiosk offers burgers in double quick time. Two years
down the lane, BurgerMan Foods has 70 plus BurgerMan Kiosk across South
India with a turnover of over Rs 3 crore. And it expects to touch Rs 5
crore turnover by the end of this year.
BurgerMan Foods expands to city of Hyderabad with a bang with 30 kiosks at
a time. They are slated to be launched in a day or two in Hyderabad by
many celebrities including Junior NTR and others.
The journey of BurgerMan started when Sunil Cherian was still a student in
the year 2006. Even before he finished his college, he got BurgerMan Kiosk
setup outside Stella Maria College (December 2006) in Chennai. “I gave
petty salaries, hired students from catering colleges, converted my garage
into a kitchen and kick-started the business.” Though now it is a
different story. “Most of my employees earn a five-digit salary,” says
Sunil Cherian, CEO of BurgerMan Foods India Pvt. Ltd addressing a press
conference here in city today.
It was started as a small venture with an investment of Rs 2 lakh by
setting up a 25sq ft kiosk of BurgerMan in Chennai. Now with over 100
kiosks, this young entrepreneur provides employment to 200 people directly
and 1000 indirectly. And now targets to add another 100 kiosks by the end
of this year across cities in South India.
Sunil Cherian is often referred in media as “Kiosk CEO”, “Uncrowned Burger
King”. BurgerMan has also set an academy — Indian Institute of Kiosk
Management to train aspiring young entrepreneurs.
