CA donates $10,000 to HOPE School in
Hyderabad
Contribution
from five-day CA WORLD event in the US will be spent on school infrastructure
Hyderabad|India|March'2009: CA, Inc (NASDAQ:
CA), the world’s leading independent IT management software company, has
handed $10,000 to the CA HOPE School in Hyderabad as a donation from CA
WORLD, a five-day IT event that drew executives from all over the world to
the US late last year.
In July this year, the CA HOPE School will have completed five years of
service to the local community, after employees at CA’s India Technology
Center (ITC) in Hyderabad established the amenity in partnership with the
HOPE Foundation in the summer of 2004. The school provides free
English-based education, along with free books, uniforms, breakfast and
mid-day meals for the school’s 200 Lower Kindergarten to class V students.
CA’s Corporate SVP of Global Technical Support, Leo Annab, handed a cheque
for $10,000 to CA HOPE School Program Co-coordinator G Rajesh at a
ceremony attended by school staff and students, as well as CA’s Senior
Director of Technical Support, Abdul Karim Riyaz, and C Shyam, CA’s
Director of Technical Support. The event was hosted by Sairam Chamarti ,
CA ’s Senior Engineering Project Manager, on behalf of the CA Together
community service team at the ITC. The money will be spent on developing
HOPE school infrastructure.
CA Vice President and Site Manager Joga Ryali said: “CA remains committed
to giving back to the community. In that regard, this donation is part of
our contribution to the development of the community around the ITC.”
As well as donating computers and educational CDs to the school, CA
employees get involved in all kinds of HOPE school activities such as
medical camps, counseling, sports, cultural functions and serving as
part-time teachers.
Established 12 years ago, HOPE Foundation is an affiliate of HOPE
worldwide, an international charitable organization with the mission to
bring hope to a hurting world. HOPE foundation helps people fight the
social, economical and physical ills. It provides care to Leprosy patients
through 700 houses built for them, helps in prevention of HIV/AIDS, as
well as provides care and support to HIV/ AIDS victims, especially women
and children. It is also involved in running several other programs like
an orphanage for abandoned and orphaned children, primary schools,
computer schools, dental clinics in jails and vocational training
institutes. HOPE Foundation runs its programs in various cities including
Delhi , Bombay , Pune, Bangalore , Chennai , Cochin , Trivandrum ,
Kottayam, Hyderabad , Ahmedabad, Bhuj ( Gujarat with earthquake relief
program) Kolkatta and Trichy.
