Hyderabad|India|October'2010: Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute is observing the whole month of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month on the eve of 18th October, World Breast Cancer Awareness Day. As part of these programs, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute has organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Run from KBR Park to Jubliee hills Check Post to KBR Park on 7 AM, 10th October 2010.

The event was organised in support of NTR Memorial Trust and Movie Artists Association(MAA). The event was attended by GHMC Mayor Smt.B.Kartheeka Reddy, Sri AK Khan, IPS., Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao(JR NTR) & Sri Nandamuri Kalyanram of NTR family, Sri. Murali Mohan, President, Movie Artists Association, Sri. Venkat, CEO, NTR Memorial Trust, Sri RP Singh, CEO, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Institute. Sri Kota SrinivasaRao, Sri Shivaji Raja, Sri Venu Madhav also participated in the run along with several cine stars.

Speaking on the occasion Sri Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sri Murali Mohan has appealed public to have awareness about breast cancer disease, so that they can detect it in early stages itself. Famous comedian Venu Mahav cited several instances in which people will ignore early warning signs coming from the body about disease with an humorous touch.

GHMC Mayor Smt.B.Kartheeka Reddy asked women to conduct self screening procedures regularly so that breast cancer can be detected at early stages itself. Calling upon public to know more about the diseases surrounding them, Sri AK Khan., IPS., Hyderbad Police Commissioner asked people to set aside some wrong beliefs and come forward for treatment.

Speaking on the occasion Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao(JR NTR) has asked people to utilise the best facilities available in Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute. He appealed people to detect the cancer in early stages itself, so that it can be cured permanently. Joining with Jr.NTR, Sri Kalyan Ram assured that Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute will provide best medical care to cancer patients.

Later Smt. B.Kartheeka Reddy and other female stars have release the pink balloons to signifying freedom from breast cancer. Then Jr.NTR, Kalyan Ram along with other stars released pigeons to showcase peace and happiness for cancer patients.

Finally the rally was flagged off by Jr.NTR along with AK Khan. Nursing Students from Indo American Nursing College, Several Stars, Basavatarakam Hospital staff, NTR Memorial Trust staff and others participated in the run. Run started from KBR park went upto Jubilee Hills Check Post and returned back to KBR Park.
