Convergys Hyderabad
celebrates Independence Day
Hyderabad|India|August'2010: Celebrating the spirit of Independence
Day with gaiety and patriotic fervor, Convergys employees organized
festivities to take place at their facility in Hyderabad.
The three colours of the Indian flag were prominently visible throughout
the facility in the decorations, balloons and miniature flags strung along
the various floors. The colorful Rangolis (designs made of colored powder
or flower petals), the traditional diyas (lamps) and the fragrance of the
flowers added to the festive spirit. Some of the employees participated in
a Rangoli competition titled ‘The Colours of India,’ which brought out
their creativity around the theme of independence.
The employees also enacted self-prepared skits at a competition titled
‘Azad Panchi’ that revisited history and revived memories of the noble
sacrifice made by the heroes who fought for India’s freedom.
As a part of its corporate social responsibility program, on 15th August,
employee volunteers will celebrate Independence Day with over 350 children
at the government school in Lingampally that Convergys and NGO Project 511
jointly adopted in 2004. The celebrations at the school will be marked by
a flag hoisting ceremony, cultural activities performed by the school
children and a special lunch for the school staff and children.
