Hyderabad|India|March'2010: The School of humanities organised a one-day symposium on Deccani. It was presided over by Prof. Seyed E. Hasnain, Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad.

Padmasri Shri Keshav Malik, eminent poet and art critic addressed the inaugural session. Shri Keshav Malik has served as the art critic for The Hindustan Times and The Times of India for long periods of time. Shri Malik in 2004 was made a Fellow of the Lalit Kala Akademi for lifetime contribution. Smt. Rajkumari Indradevi Dhanrajgir, wife of late shri Guntur Seshandra Sharma was the Guest of Honour.

Mr. Subroto Bandopadhya chaired the literary session and papers were presented on Deccani Poetry, Deccani Masnavia and Deccani Hindi Kavya Mulyankan.

Prof. Syeda Jaffer chaired the valedictory session in which Mr. Khan Ather made a presentation on Munajat (Poetry). Mr. Mohd. Kashif proposed the vote of thanks.
