Rotary Clubs to
donate 2950 School Desks to
83 Government Schools

Hyderabad|India|February'2011: Rotary Club of Hyd East and Rotary
International Dist 3150 (comprising 93 Rotary clubs in twin cities,
Telangana and Guntur, Prakasam Dists.) are to donate 2950 School
Desks worth Rs. 60 lakhs to 83 Govt Schools in Twin cities, Ranga
Reddy, Medak and Nalgonda districts.
Addressing media, Rtn K Bhaskar Reddy, Project Director, School
Benches project from Rotary Club Of Hyderabad East that Sri N Kiran
Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister, Govt of AP, has given his content to be
the Chief Guest and Smt D Purandheswari, Hon’ble Minister for State
for HRD, Govt Of India, Sri N Manohar, Hon’ble Dy Speaker, AP
Legislative Assembly, Sri Pardha Saradhy, Hon’ble Minister for
Secondary Education, Govt Of AP and several others are coming as
Guests of Honour. All the benches will be taken to the venue in 200
lorry trips and will be lined up for distribution. After the event
the benches will be delivered to schools at their premises by
Rotarians.
Rtn Rajya Lakshmi Vadlamani, Dist Governor, RI Dist 3150 has
informed that Rotary International has been carrying out several
community developmental projects and one is Right To Learn –
Literacy promotion programme in under developed and developing
countries. She congratulated Hyd East club for taking up this
initiative and made this project executed. She also explained
another important point of this event that 6000 school children will
be present and 2950 benches will also be made available at the
venue.
Rtn Ravi Vadlamani, Past Dist Governor, RI dist 3150 whose brain
childe is this project said that this project has come true through
Matching Grants programme where in two Districts in Rotary
International participate and donate $37 per each school bench and
congratulated Rotary Clubs in RI Dist 3150 and RI dist 1400, Finland
for this Mega project. Stating further Ravi added that similar
project will be taken up on 26th February in Karimnagar and Khammam
in March.
Rtn Bhaskar Reddy also thanked ITC and Tata Tele services Ltd and
several Rotarians and Rotarty Clubs for supporting the event with
their sponsorships to execute this distribution of benches in a
grand manner.
that Rotary Club Of Hyderabad East is one of the active Clubs of
Rotary International Dist 3150 and has several credentials including
constructing the two storey, 20 class room building for Govt High
school of Rotary Club of Hyd East at Jawahar Nagar, Hyderabad
inaugurated on 30 March 2010. The Club has again taken the
initiative of processing a School benches project under Right To
Learn - Literacy programme of Rotary International which resulted
into this mega project.
