kids emerge World Champions at a just concluded International mental Arithmetic
competition at
Dubai.

Hyderabad|India|December'2008: Four kids
out of five represented at an International Competition on Abacus and
Mental Arithmetic held in Dubai emerged World Champions. Puskur Ashish a
ten years old 6th class student of HPS Begumpet became World Champion in
Grand Master Level 3, Jai Parikh a elevan years old 6th class student of
HPS Begumpet school emerged World Champion in Grand Master Level A;
Praveek Trivedi a eight year old 3rd class class student of Chirec Public
SEchool became a World Champion in 5th Level.
The competition was held on 5th December and they returned to city only on
8th December.
Another kid from Vijayawada Pranav Bhang a elevan years old 7th standard
student of Delhi Public School bagged 2nd runner up award in the 4th
level.
Immediately after the competition looking at the computing mathematical
skills Puskur Ashish our city kid was called on to the dias by Mr. Kelvin
Tham, Founder of SIP Academy, Malaysia and internationally well acclaimed
brain gym trainer and made to give demonstration of his skills infront of
the participants from across the world.
"It is my best moment in life. I can’t ask more. My parents, my SIP
instructors groomed me what i am today and this credit goes to them. There
could never be a best moment in life when i was called to give
demonstration" informed Puskar Ashish addressing the media. "I was
initially scared to stand infront of kids from so many countries. But,
thank god i soon regained my conscience and rose the occasion. The hall
reverberated with claps in appreciation. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
Thank god my mother and elder brother accompanied me to the competition. I
was searching for them in the audience, but i couldn’t locate them. My
mother is too happy to see me giving such a wonderful performance which i
call a dream come true", he explained.
On his arrival in Vijayawada yesterday night, Pranav Bhang was taken out
in a rally of five hundred people by his parents, relatives and community
people and gave him a rousing welcome to the city.
The competition, the toughest of all the competitions ever held so far is
participated by kids from over nine countries viz Indonesia, UK, South
Africa, Sri Lanka, Philippines, India, Dubai, Malaysia, UAE. Since this
was competed by the champions of various nations, this International
competition registered a tough competition.
Off 31 kids of Indian contingent, only five were from Andhra Pradesh, but
still they bagged the maximum world championships which is an all time
record.
