Hyderabad|India|October'2010: Forty five children of the Forum for Street Children, Secunderabad were given a special treat by Aditya Hotels. Staff from the Aditya hotels who are otherwise busy bringing smiles on the faces of their customers serving tasty food took time out to celebrate World Food Day at Forum for Street Children, Secunderabad. The employees of Aditya Park and Aditya Hometel, units of Sarovar Hotels led by Mr. Pankaj Saxena, GM - Aditya Park Hotel and Mr. Sanjeev Tiwari, GM - Aditya Hometel and other staff played games with the 45 children of the home for street children and treated them with biryani bringing joy and cheerfulness on the faces of the children.

Forty five children aged 7 to 18 years belonging to the home for street children were treated to several games and special biryani prepared by the hotel. Employees of the Aditya hotels mingled with the children playing games and made today, a special day for them. Clothes and bedsheets were also distributed to the children. Aditya hotels’ Mr. Raghunandan, Mr. Naresh Byra, Mr. Shekhar and other staff participated in the program. Mr. Kasim, Warden - Home for the Street Children was also present on the occasion.

World Food Day celebrated on 16th October every year was proclaimed in 1979 by the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It marks the date of the founding of FAO in 1945. The aim of the Day is to heighten public awareness of the world food problem and strengthen solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.
