Business Incubator facility inaugurated in City
Hyderabad|India|December'2010: To foster the research activities
and help transform young scientists to become entrepreneurs,
Technology Business Incubator (TBI) is inaugurated at University of
Hyderabad by Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chief Economic Advisor to the Prime
Minister of India on 21 December 2010 on the University campus.
Prof. C Rangarajan, in his inaugural address added that Technology
Business Incubator (TBI) serves as a platform between Invention and
Innovation and behaves as a transition model between Research model
and Product development phase.
Prof. A V Rao, former Director, IICT, Hyderabad and Chairman, AVRA
Labs, the Guest of Honor at the Inaugural ceremony briefed the
transition of Science and Technology development in India over the
last few decades and commended the UoH for its bold initiative of
setting up TBI facility.
Prof. Seyed E. Hasnain, Vice Chancellor said that University of
Hyderabad is the front runner in acquiring latest developments in
the Science and Technology arena and added that in India apart from
IIT’s UoH stands good at R&D activities.
TBI at UoH has been created at an estimated cost of Rs. 54 lakhs.
Prof. V. Venkataramana, Dean, School of Management studies, serves
as coordinator of the TBI facility. Prof. Y V Reddy, Emeritus
Professor, University of Hyderabad and former Governor, RBI was
present on the occasion.
