Hyderabad|India|April'2009:
Indiavoting.com, India ’s first edutainment site by Insite Digital,
launched its voter outreach program for General Elections with a series of
innovative online and grassroots initiatives targeted at young voters.
“Internet is all about engaging audiences with highly interactive
visual-led content. Efforts by various corporate, NGOs and websites to
increase awareness through single action voter registration sites has only
fueled an insatiable hunger among internet audiences, who look forward to
something new every time they click. Indiavoting.com seeks to bridge the
gap with its huge bank of edutainment content,” said Amit Tripathi,
Managing Director Insite Digital.
In the first three weeks of launch,Indiavoting.com has already got
more than 100,000 visitors to the site.
Indiavoting.com launched VoteYatra-a grassroots program with multiple
vans that use cartoons, spot quizzes, magic shows and mobile info displays
for voter awareness. VoteYatra will conduct more than 500 kerbside shows
and aims to reach over a million voters in more than 150 constituencies
during its 15,000 km journey across India .
Indiavoting.com also launched two significant initiatives-Math Socho
Abhiyan (veritably a pun on Thinking about your vote as well a call for
action to vote in General Elections 2009), a catchy hip hop song that
chides the youth to let go of their favorite passions like watching a
movie or indulging in gossipy discussions on voting day AND come out and
vote. The other innovative initiative is a free e-guide- “Monk’ies Guide
to The Big Fat Democrazy”, the first ever edutainment guide to Indian
elections that offers 40 pages of voter-help information and engaging
content like quizzes, trivia, cartoons, etc.
“We plan to use viral marketing to popularize the catchy Mat Socho track
as well as request popular FM radio stations to play it. In addition, our
team is in touch with leading DJs at bars and discotheques to play the
track as a part of their mixes. We are targeting one million free
downloads of Mat Socho and the Monk’ies Guide to The Big Fat Democrazy on
Indiavoting.com”, added Mr Tripathi.
The Mat Socho hip-hop track and the Monk’ies Guide to the The Big Fat
Democrazy can be downloaded free from Indiavoting.com and can also be
freely shared with friends through popular social networking sites like
Facebook, Orkut, MySpace, ibibo, etc.
IndiaVoting has launched Politicking – the age old game of Snakes and
Ladders, now adapted to General Elections 2009. IndiaVoting.com plans to
launch nine more games in April.
Indiavoting.com offers more than 2000 political cartoons specially created
around General Elections 2009, 100 crosswords, 3000 quiz questions and a
host of multimedia games that don’t just entertain but also help increase
general awareness on Indian politics.
Insite Digital is a next generation media company that seeks to create
niche internet media platforms catering to diverse audiences. The company
plans to launch three more channels, in addition to politics, on
www.indiavoting.com in 2009.
