Hyderabad|India|February'2010: A unique and soul blending Friday
evening was the place to be at Ista Hyderabad as the luxury star hotel
played host to noted pianist Aman Mahajan and lead guitarist Arjun Chandan
who put up a swinging jazz performance which formed a perfect match for
the hotel's soothing ambience.
This special jazz night was co-hosted by Ista Hotel with ‘Concern India
Foundation (CIF) ’- a non-profit, public charitable trust that supports
development oriented organizations working for the disadvantaged. All
proceeds of the sale of tickets were directed towards CIF’s initiatives in
their continued efforts in improving lives of financially challenged
children.
The duo performed originals and a select set of improvised pieces which
were specially arranged for this fund raising initiative. A high energy
stellar performance that reduced all rampant talk to a whisper, it was a
night of unadulterated jazz at its best with the stage at Ista adding the
much needed sheen for a jazz ambience.
Appreciating the turnout of music lovers, Mr. Jaideep Anand, General
Manger, Ista Hyderabad remarked, “It is our constant endeavor to extend
our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in understanding and
serving the needs of the underprivileged, it has been an enriching
experience teaming with Concern India Foundation for this event which has
given us a unique platform to reach out and serve people through our
forte- food and shelter. I am happy with turnout of the guests today and
we look forward to many such associations which will help us better
someone’s live in our own little way”
The performance by Aman Mahajan and Arjun Chandan was nothing short of
being called ‘phenomenal’. Capturing the audience in a total state of
grace and awe, the musical pieces being recited created a visceral
response from the gathering which saw an eclectic crowd consisting of
multi-generational jazz aficionados representing the socialites,
corporates and students community of the city that had converged at Ista.
Sponsored by Ista Hyderabad, the evening which was organized to ‘run for a
cause’ was one where the curtains came down with the audience still
gasping for more of such an enthralling performance.
