Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, former
Miss World and the international face of Indian cinema becomes the brand
ambassador of jewellery retail chain Kalyan Jewellers. This is the first
time that Aishwarya who has so far endorsed only international brands is
endorsing a jewellery retail brand.
“Aishwarya’s popularity and stardom at an international level is
unparalleled. We are sure her personality and life which is the right
balance of professional and personal success, style and substance,
international acceptance and family orientation will take our brand to
greater heights”, T.S. Kalyanaraman, Managing Director, Kalyan Jewellers

to endorse our brand”, he added.
Today the group has 34 stores spread over the 4 southern states and is
fast evolving as the No.1 jewellery brand in the country. This year the
group is entering new markets of Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi, West Bengal
and Gujarat.

The group is expecting to touch a turnover of Rs 15000 crores
this financial year. By 2014 end the group expects to touch 100 stores
across the world.
Kalyan has planned an advertising campaign that will get national and
international visibility. It will be for Kalyan’s advertising film that
Aishwarya will face the camera for the first time after her maternity
break. Aishwarya will be wearing Kalyan’s latest designs for this ad film
which will be made at a cost of Rs 1.5 crores. The jewellery designed by
internationally acclaimed designers from various parts of India is under
manufacturing in Kalyan’s state-of-the-art production units. Almost 15 new
brands in gold and diamond jewellery is under various stages of
manufacture. With this new range Kalyan will be the undoubted market
leader in terms of jewellery designs and variety.
Kalyan Jewellers has always been noted for their innovative advertising
campaigns. Whether it is about purity in gold jewellery, fair trade
practices, availability of variety in designs, all the ads have become
memorable due to the creative ads and innovative narration styles.
Over the years Kalyan has done pioneering campaigns to educate people
about purity in gold, pricing malpractices in gold and cheating through
offers and schemes. Through these campaigns Kalyan had forced competitors
to adopt of BIS hallmarking in many markets. These campaigns were endorsed
