Shopping complexes asked to obtain Police permission before conducting
promotional programs
Hyderabad|India|November'2010:
Managements of shopping
complexes, business establishments, etc., are inviting celebrities like
cinema stars, sports personalities and other prominent persons for
conducting promotional events to boost up their business, during festival
season.
Such events have the potential of creating traffic jams in congested
localities/ thorough fares as well, resulting in utter chaos, stampedes,
throwing civic life into disarray and thereby disturbing public order.
Moreover, these events are often held after giving wide publicity in print
and electronic media, due to which large number of people are likely to
gather at the place of event.
With a view to regulate traffic and maintain public order and to ensure
there is no stampede or chaos to civic life during the festival season, it
is informed that the managements/organizers conducting mega events
inviting celebrities, should invariably take prior permission from the
concerned zonal Dy.Commissioner of Police. To this effect a notification
has been issued by Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City under provisions
of the Hyderabad City Police Act 1348 Fasli.
In case any business establishment conducts such events without prior
permission from the DCP concerned, severe penal action will be initiated
against the erring management/organizers and steps will be initiated for
their prosecution under relevant sections of law.
