NASSCOM meeting held in
Hyderabad
Hyderabad|India|April'2010: NASSCOM conducted its executive council
meeting in Hyderabad. The primary agenda of NASSCOMs meeting in Hyderabad
was to draw a Roadmap on promoting ICT industry in India.
Parallely Mr. Som Mittal President NASSCOM along with other members of the
Executive Council called on to Smt. K. Ratna Prabha, IAS, Principal
Secretary to Government, Information Technology and Communications
Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Som Mittal President NASSCOM thanked Sri.K.Rosaiah, Chief Minister of
Andhra Pradesh for providing extensive support to the IT Industry. Mr.
Mittal on behalf of NASSCOM and the IT Industry has reassured full support
to Government of Andhra Pradesh and mentioned that the IT Sector will
continue to grow even in the event of unforeseen situation in the state.
NASSCOM appreciated the pioneering initiatives of the state Government in
protecting the IT Industry. Mr. Som Mittal, President NASSCOM said Andhra
Pradesh is the first state in India to treat IT Industry under ESMA Act
and further added that this Act will provide a Safety Cover to Industry
and enable 24/7 seamless operation in the state. This will reinforce
assurance to the Industry and enable attracting new Investments in the
state of Andhra Pradesh. Members of Executive Council also appreciated the
state of the art Infrastructure of Hyderabad City and the Low commuting
time of employees to their work place.
President NASSCOM and Principal Secretary IT discussed on the following
issue :
1. Repositioning of Hyderabad as a destination for Investment
2. Engineering Services as a new vertical in ICT Sector. State Government
and NASSCOM to work on policy measures for attracting Engineering Services
Companies in AP which shall include special incentives package and
creation of Product Testing Lab.
3. State Government to work closely with NASSCOM on promoting Animation
Industry in Andhra Pradesh.
