Hyderabad|India|August'2011:Metropolis Healthcare India’s leading multinational chain of diagnostic centers will be launching soon a Green Field laboratory in Hyderabad. The lab is spread across 1800 square feet area and will conduct over 100 diversified tests. Metropolis is one of the first national level laboratory to open a standalone lab facility in Hyderabad, with capabilities for routine and specialized testing including hormones, vitamins and tumour markers in the central location of Hyderabad city. The lab will also cater services to Andhrapradesh as well as neighbouring cities. Metropolis Healthcare has invested around 75 lacs in the Hyderabad Green Field laboratory.

‘Green field’ is the term used when a company sets up a new laboratory instead of acquiring an already existing one. So Metropolis Healthcare under its banner will be setting up these new laboratories in the towns from where they are already collecting samples and have a customer base. Hence now instead of sending the samples to canter’s like Mumbai or Chennai they will be processed in the referral labs itself, thus reducing the TAT (Turn around time) and thereby faster reports are available .

Metropolis Healthcare Ltd, India’s leading multinational chain of diagnostics centers, is now coming up with 15 Greenfield laboratories in tier II and tier III cities across India The company is likely to make a total investment of around Rs.15 crores in this fiscal year. These well-equipped labs will be located in cities like Gorakhpur, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Lucknow, Allahabad, Udaipur, Agra, Bhopal, Ranchi, Belgaum, Pondicherry, Kollam, Kottayam.

“We have already selected 10 locations for South and West India and five locations for North India.
