Microsemi celebrates its 2nd anniversary
Hyderabad|India|September'2011: Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq: MSCC),
a leading provider of semiconductor solutions differentiated by power,
security, reliability and performance held a press conference at its
facility in Hyderabad, India, to discuss the company’s commitment to the
region and to mark its second anniversary in the country . Highlights of
the event included comments from Mr. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister of
Information Technology and Communications for Andhra Pradesh
The Minister acknowledged the important role Microsemi has played in many
of the country’ space and defense programs. In the space sector, he noted
that Microsemi’s technology has been deployed in various satellite
programs including series IRNS, INSAT, the Indian Regional Navigation
Satellite system, and a variety of remote sensing (agriculture/weather)
communications satellites. The Minister also praised Microsemi for its
contribution of radiation-hardened technology for use in Chandrayann-1,
India’s first scientific mission to the moon, and for its upcoming
deployment in the 2014 launch of the Chandrayaan-2 lunar rover.
In the defense sector, the Minister commented that Microsemi’s solutions
are used by many government agencies including the Indian Air Force, Navy,
and Army for several strategic programs such as fighter aircrafts,
surveillance systems, and radio communications systems. He also
underscored the importance of having partners such as Microsemi that are
committed to establishing true full-service, in-country organizations and
a strong regional infrastructure.

with his presence as we mark our two-year anniversary in Hyderabad, and
for sharing his perspectives on the markets we address,” said Esam
Elashmawi, Vice President and General Manager, SoC Product Group. “In a

created an infrastructure of local ecosystem partners to support our
Indian customer base. We are very proud that our people, products, and
technology are being used to help advance India’s space and defense

At the event, Microsemi also announced that its Hyderabad facility
achieved two key industry certifications including IS0 9001:2008 for
meeting rigorous quality management standards for systems and processes.
Microsemi’s India facility also achieved compliance with stringent AS9100
Rev C quality system requirements for aviation, space, and defense
markets. The new revision of AS9100 includes an increased focus on risk
management, supplier management controls, on-time delivery, and product
conformity measurements, including taking appropriate actions against
vendors when planned results are not achieved. The quality audits were
conducted by NSF International Strategic Registrations, Ltd., a leader in
management systems registrations for clients throughout the world.
The company also announced that Esam Elashmawi, vice president and general
manager of Microsemi’s SoC Product Group, will present a keynote speech
entitled “Maximizing Opportunities in High-Value Semiconductor Markets
with Steep Barriers to Entry” at the Indian Semiconductor Association “CXO
Conclave” event in Hyderabad on the evening of Sept. 20.
