Hyderabad|India|December'2011: Mojostreet (www.mojostreet.com)
which secured USD 350k funding in April this year from Srini Koppolu,
former Managing Director of Microsoft India and J.A. Chowdary former
Managing Director of Nvidia India is leading the Indian wave of location
based mobile gaming. Mojostreet is a free to download real word game,
friend finder, city guide, social network and loyalty rewards all rolled
into one app for your smartphone!
Mojostreet announced that in just 2 weeks of its beta launch, it
witnessed more than 15,000 downloads and check-ins across 422 cities
globally. Mojostreet is now available for Blackberry, Nokia, Iphone and
Android devices.
Mojostreet, Founder & CEO, Kalyan Manyam said, “We expect the number of
mojostreet players to touch 100,000 by Jan 2012. To match our growth curve
we grew our team from 10 People to 30 People in the last 1 month and we
plan to be a 100 people company by end of 2012.”
Mojostreet anticipates the market to grow very rapidly as data plans
become more affordable in India. “As data plans become more affordable for
the 750 million mobile users in India, location-based services are going
to play a crucial role in community-based entertainment and commerce”,
Kalyan Manyam said. “And we are very excited to see the ways Mojostreet
can influence real world experiences and commerce”
The excitement of the game begins with the players checking into places
they visit. With every check-in players earn mojo dollars using which they
can virtually own real world properties and start collecting mojo rent
from other players. Check-ins will also increase the value of the property
and networth of players. It gets more exciting when players are treated
with surprise rewards and special offers for checking in at participating
merchant locations. Currently, Mojostreet players can check-into more than
5.5 million geo-tagged locations and can win check-in rewards from 150
brands across 1250 locations.
Mojostreet also helps players to discover their cities through an exciting
game format where in the recommendation to discover a new place is given
by other players. Players also get to know where their friends are playing
the game from and also get to see where they can get Check-in rewards.
Players can also connect mojostreet to their facebook and twitter accounts
to share their discoveries and game achievements making the game socially
viral.
“The purpose is to create a real impact for not only players but also
businesses hoping to be discovered by new customers and retaining them
forever. In collaboration with mojostreet, businesses can run special
rewards that are won by users who check in to their locations. For
example, a food corner could create a special that gives free deserts to
customers who check in 1x times. These specials encourage frequency,
first-time visits and higher spending by customers.” Kalyan says.
Mojostreet has recently moved into a 4000 square foot new location with 30
member technical, marketing and sales team on board. Mojostreet plans to
have 100 people on board in its New Delhi and Hyderabad centers.
Mojostreet first global expansion will kick off in Singapore, Indonesia,
Malaysia and Hong Kong, early next year.
Mojostreet mobile game is less than 700 kb in size and can be freely
