Niraj International Schools Global Centric Curriculum to Help Students Become Future Ready

Hyderabad|India|January'2009: Niraj Educational Society (NES) a globally recognised educational society has announced the launch of Niraj International School (NIS) in Hyderabad. The curriculum at NIS will be global centric, designed with an eye to help students meet future challenges with greater ease. It will be a combination of rigorous academic, cultural, and linguistic program widely acknowledged by colleges and universities, not only in India but also worldwide. The school will follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge Program methodology.

The 7 acre campus of NIS is located at Kandlakoya on NH7, Hyderabad and strategically located in close proximity to world class economic infrastructure and conveniences. NIS will cater to children of all nationalities. Admission for the new academic year will commence from January 08, 2009. Initially NIS will admit pupils from Nursery to Grade V under the Primary Years Program of IB. Later, the School will grow to become a full spectrum IB World School by seeking permission to start IB Middle Years Program and the IB Diploma Program. NIS will also offer The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Cambridge program.

The new campus will open its doors this year, with school term starting on 1st July 2009. With a capacity for 250 students initially, the school will feature comprehensive facilities which includes completely air-conditioned classrooms and subject-specific laboratories, and a range of sporting and recreational facilities. The entire campus is fully equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity.

Mr. H G Pant, an educational veteran with global experience will be the founder principal of the school. Pant has 42 years of experience of which 28 years he has served as principal of reputed International schools both in India and Kenya such as the Oshwal Academy, Mombasa, and Aga Khan Kenya Secondary School, (now rechristened Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa) teaching in the English & IB system. He embarked on his first Principalship in a mixed school in Kisii, East Africa. Since then he has headed several leading schools in Kenya and India. Mr. Pant brings with him diverse experience of managing different international school systems. He has also been an examiner and an assessor for several examinations. During his years in Kenya, Mr. Pant was honored by His Excellency, the President of Kenya, for his contribution in the field of education, and motivating and guiding his students to undertake many community service projects.

On his appointment as the first Principal in NIS, Mr. H G Pant said, "I am looking forward to head NIS promoted by the well known NES in Hyderabad as I believe strongly in Niraj Educational Society’s commitment to create world class education institutes which are relevant and will be in demand as global citizenship grows. My goal as Principal is to enable teachers, students and their parents enjoy the benefits being in IB and Cambridge environment and allow our students to be better prepared for college.” Our focus at NIS will be “Formation” than “Information” which encompasses nurturing of self-esteem, character and awareness of one’s obligation to society.

With a student teacher ratio of !:10, NIS Grade school students can look forward to absolute schooling attention by world class IB and Cambridge program trained teachers, backed by state-of-the-art fully equipped teaching facilities with computers, LCD projectors, a well-stacked library with multimedia resources, multi skill development labs and rooms.

The NIS campus is designed for all-rounded student development with strong emphasis to build student skills and academic knowledge based on reflection, dialogue, critical analysis and creativity. NIS targets to achieve its IB certification in the next three years.

The IB and Cambridge qualifications are fully recognized in India, and students with these qualifications are eligible for all competitive examinations such as AIPMT and AIEEE, as well as for admission to colleges and universities in India.
