Foundation Stone laid for Construction of New Building for Govt Rotary Nirmal Bharat School, Nagarjuna Hills, Punjagutta

Hyderabad|India|October'2011: The Rotary Club of Hyderabad East (RCHE), a unit of Rotary International District 3150 begins the construction of new building for a Government High School here in Punjagutta, Hyderabad. District Governor Rotary International District 3150 Rotarian D. K. Anand today laid the Foundation stone at the Government Rotary Nirmal Bharat High School situated at Nagarjuna Hills, Punjagutta. Taken up as part of Rotary Club of Hyderabad East’s Literacy Promotion Project, it is a joint initiative by Rotary Club of Hyderabad East in association with Government of Andhra Pradesh under the Rajiv Vidya Mission - Andhra Pradesh Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. From the club, Past President Rahul Agarwal is donating the money in the name of his parents. Accordingly the new school is named as Govt Rotary Nirmal Bharat School.

The new building (Ground + 3 Floors) will have 12 spacious classrooms with total built up area of 7400 sq. ft. that can accommodate 600 students. The new structure also houses toilets, staff room, etc. The total project cost is Rs.50 lakhs informed Rotarian Raavi Sreenivasa Rao, President - RCHE.

Apart from this project, Rotary Club of Hyderabad East today inaugurated Rotary Vocational Training Centre at Indira Nehru slum, Gautamnagar, Malkajgiri, where training will be given to unemployed ladies and high school drop out girls in tailoring and Hyderabad East is giving 7 sewing machines costing Rs 25000 for the centre.

Rotary Club of Hyderabad East is also giving away Vocational Awards two male drivers and two lady conductors (selected by Hyderabad City zone APSRTC) in the evening function to be held in NKM Grand Hotel in the midst of Rotarians, families and other guests.

Rotary International (founded 1905) is the world’s first service club organization and one of the largest humanitarian service organizations in the world with more than 12 lakh members in 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

Rotary Club of Hyderabad East was chartered (established) on October 29, 1986. It is focused on Community Service Projects with a focus on Literacy, Building Vocations, Health, Hunger, Safe Drinking Water and Polio Eradication. The Rotary Club of Hyderabad East is a part of Rotary International’s Model Club Pilot Project.

Whether it is providing benches, books or building a new block or a science lab for the schools Rotary Club of Hyderabad East has always been in the forefront. It is involved with supporting Polio Immunization days at 100+ booths under the 2 medical centers (Domalguda and Bholakpur). Last month, RCHE had inaugurated six Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants on a single day in Jagdevpur Mandal of Medak Dist. We are ever ready to provide Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to villages in dire need of safe drinking water or facilitating certified vocational training allowing people to build livelihoods, added Rotarian Sirish Akula, Secretary - RCHE.
