Bank vows to meet Mumbai victims' blood requirements free of cost
Hyderabad|India|November'2008: Hyderabad-based NTR Memorial Trust Blood
Bank has announced that it was making arrangements to meet the blood
requirements of Mumbai terrorist attack victims.
“The Mumbai attacks are shocking, and untold
miseries have been heaped on innocent victims and
their families,” says Mr P Raghu Rama Rao, Chief
Executive Officer, NTR Memorial Trust, an
organization which is known for its pioneering
social work in areas like blood bank, primary
healthcare, women and child welfare. “We are
planning to air-lift the first consignment of
around 100 units of blood pertaining to rare blood
groups i.e. A-, B-, O- & AB- to Mumbai, as it was
found that hospitals are in need of such blood
immediately. This is yet another milestone in NTR
Memorial Trust’s rich tradition of responding to
major crisis situations.”
“More blood units will be sent to Mumbai during the day and in the
coming days to take care of Mumbai’s requirements fully,” says Mr Raghu
Rama Rao.
