The Special Economic Zone for Food Processing at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh,
promoted by Parry Infrastructure Co., (P) Ltd, part of the Murugappa Group
is ready to commence operations.

Acres, this Government of India notified SEZ is
first of it’s kind in Andhra Pradesh and is
strategically located close to Kakinada sea port
and many agro-input farms.
Parry Infra, the promoters of this SEZ
mentioned that their first customer, M/s Silk Road Sugar (P) Ltd, had set
up a state-of-the-art sugar refinery at an approximate cost of Rs. 325
Crores in this SEZ. Due to its attractive location, many of the Indian
Food processing exporters have evinced keen interest in setting up their
units in this SEZ.
Parry Infra officials said, Andhra Pradesh
is the ideal location for food industries, abundant with availability of
several food ingredients, fruits & vegetables, fish & marine products,
Diary products, spices, rice etc. Kakinada sea port, a private port with
excellent facilities is located just 5 KMs from this SEZ which offers
great advantage for cost effective shipments out of India.
