Poland Business delegation in Hyderabad
Hyderabad|India|October'2009: A delegation from Poland consisting
of Mr. Marek Sowa Member of the Board of Malopolska Region, Poland; Mr.
Slawomir Kopec, President of the Krakow Technology Park; Mr. Krzysztof
Krzysztofiak, President of the Malopolska Regional Devleopment Agency;
Mr.Dawid Jarosz, Director of the Foreign Direct Investment Centre,
Malopolska Regional Development Agency; Mr. Jacek Bielawski, Foreign
Direct Investments, Krakow Technology Park; Mr. Agenieszka Dyga,
International Relations Officer, Office of the Marshall and Prof. Jerzy
Lis, Dean of University of Science and Technology today met the Chief
Minister K Rosaiah at Secretariat.
The mission of the delegation is to develop cooperation with the companies
in the field of IT/R&D Centres to open their offices in Malopolska Region;
to cooperate on the level of Technology Parks - to meet the Infrastructure
developers for building Technology Parks and to have collaborations in the
areas of clean/green energy with University of Science & Technology,
Krakow (Capital of Malopolska Region).
Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Malopolska region entered into a
Cooperation agreement on 1st December 2005 during the visit of State
Government delegation to Poland led by the then Minister for Mines &
Geology, Infrastructure & Investment, IT&C. This Cooperation Statement is
to make efforts to develop cooperation between the two regions in the
field of economic development and exchange of trade in particular in the
field of advanced technologies, and through the cooperation of the parties
on establishment of the IT Park in Malopolska.
As a follow up, Mr. Marek Sowa along with his 7 members delegation is
visiting Hyderabad from 7th of October. During the visit, meetings have
been tied up by the IT&C Department, for the delegation with the (i) IT
companies like Sierra Atlantic, Polaris, Infotech, Knoah Solutions, CMC,
etc, (ii) Education institutions like IIIT, (iii) Biotech companies like
ICICI Knowledge Park, SP Biotech Park, (iv) Animation companies like DQ
International, Ramanaidu studios, etc. and (v) Infrastructure Developers
like Raheja, Divyasree, etc.
The Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh has now emerged as a State
that provides the right climate for the growth of IT business and is now
one of the most preferred destinations in the country. Hyderabad at
present is home for major MNC IT giants and Fortune 500 companies, such as
Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle, DELL, Deloitte, Convergys, UBS, Bank of
America, HSBC, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, Honeywell, Siemens, Cognizant, Sonata,
Mahendra British Telecom, Celestica, Unisys, and many more. As a growth
engine, IT sector in A.P. is making steady strides for rapid socioeconomic
development of the State. The State performance in IT export turnover has
although been more than the normal the national average.
